You MUST watch this video of one of my favourite families -- the Gorts! Tim and Gina Gort of Marquette, Mich. have three daughters, two of whom have cerebral palsy. Gwen, middle, was born with her disability, while Eliza, left in Tim's arms, was born healthy but suffered a brain injury as a result of a medical accident. Seated with Gina is Violet. You may remember these interviews we did with Tim and Gina: 'You took the decision away from us' and Respite: 'It needs to be a way of life.' Trust me, you will never meet another family like this. I love them and respect them! Louise

I remember the respite post so vividly and think about it often. I would venture to say that it gives me hope -- that I might one day also take the time for true, real respite.
